CANOPY—A
RAINFOREST ODYSSEY created by Christopher Eaves to premiere
in November 2010 at the Stepping Stones Museum (SSMC), Norwalk,
CT. CANOPY will premiere in the museum's newly built
state of the art Multi-Media Gallery.
In addition to creating and performing CANOPY,
Eaves (the
SSMC's 2010 artist in residence)
is currently leading a year-long professional
development series with the museum staff.
CANOPY—A RAINFOREST ODYSSEY marks a continuation of Eaves'
theatrical design and construction of performative works that
are lit entirely via projected image and animation. The SSMC's
Multi-Media Gallery features an enormous concave video wall
designed specifically for the museum space which is providing
Eaves an ideal canvas upon which to imagine and engage. Coinciding
with the premiere of CANOPY will be the opening of the museum's
new Rainforest Exhibit which will provide an ideal compliment
for young audiences attending the play!

EN PLEIN AIR brings to the stage the
aesthetics and themes of early American Impressionism,
the lives of impressionist artists and impressionist paintings
through the immersion of movement, text, light and sound.
EN PLEIN AIR is lit by animated video projections of the
exhibition paintings—providing an ever changing landscape
of Giverny and Old Lyme where a Painter Pierrot travels in
search of the light, his muse and the good advices of Claude
Monet.
